Steven Durwood Crocker passed away at 7:45 am at St. Elizabeth Hospital on March 14, 2018. He passed gently in his sleep after bravely battling cancer. Bubba, as he was affectionately called by loved ones, was exceptional at anything he put his mind to. Being a TRUE cowboy thru and thru, he spent his youth as a competitive Bulldogger in the Rodeo circuit. Later occupations include heavy equipment operating, welding, and finally a pipeline inspector. Bubba also excelled in leisure sports. He was an avid hunter, golfer and a true shark on the pool table. But where he was truly exceptional was with his family. He was the best father and husband anyone could ask for. Bubba was very well loved and will be greatly missed. Steven is survived by his wife of 37 years, Debbie Helbling Crocker; daughter, Shanna Crocker Scott; two grandchildren, Dany Cate and Lucian Scott; his mother, Kathryn Moody; father, Durwood Crocker; sister, Stephanie Barron; brother, Jeff Crocker; and many more friends and family. He truly touched the lives of all he met. The light of the world dimmed as his spirit departed. Services were held at Adams EE Stringer Funeral Home in Kirbyville, Texas. Viewing was from 6-9 p.m. Saturday, March 17, and the funeral was at 1 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home chapel followed by a 3:30 p.m. graveside service at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Beaumont.
