June Loraine Grissom Shipman, 84, of Silsbee passed away April 12, 2016 at her residence. She was born October 21, 1931 to Thomas B. Grissom and Martha L. Weber in Memphis, Tennessee and was raised in New Mexico. She retired from the Department of Veterans Affairs as an RN after 23 years in Waco, Texas and Perry Point VAHospital in Maryland. She belonged to the NARFE (government Retiree) and Hardin Genealogical Society, and was a member of Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Shipman was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas B. Grissom and Martha Williams; infant son, John William Shipman; sister, Patricia Nyberg. She is survived by her daughter, Kathy E. Keenan and husband Dale of Maryland; son, Robert H. Shipman and wife Jeannie of Silsbee, Texas; sisters, Mary Lee Harvey and husband Jack of Las Cruces, New Mexico, Bonnie Gilchriest of Alabama; granddaughters Jennifer Crain and husband Brandon and Melissa Tremont and husband Pete; great grandchildren Emma Tremont, Grace Crain, Caleb Crain; and nephews Fredell Harvey, Troy Lee Nyberg, Walley Nyberg, and niece Loraine Lee Harvey.
