Funeral services for Lona Louise Morris Walters, 90, of Spurger, were at 2:00 p.m. Friday, August 26, 2016 at Farmer Funeral Home in Silsbee with interment following in Turner Branch Cemetery in Spurger. Visitation was from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Mrs. Walters passed away August 23, 2016 at Christus Jasper Memorial Hospital. A native of Westbrook, she was a long time resident of Spurger. Mrs. Walters was a member of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church in Spurger. She was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, and grandmother. Lona is preceded in death by her parents, Emphry Stephen and Nannie Mae Beesley Morris; husband J P Walters; son Billy Ray Walters; son-in-law Jim Grissom; a grandchild and a great grandchild. Survivors include her son, David Walters and wife Mary of Spurger; daughters, Ruby Ann Grissom of Spurger, Mary Louise Spangler and husband Leon of Woodville, and Brenda Gayle Padgett and husband David of Toledo Bend; brother, Earl Morris of Hubbard; sixteen grandchildren, thirty four great grandchildren and four great, great grandchildren.
