Marscine Simmons

The sunrise of Marscine Edward Simmons was in Cedar Grove, Newton County, Texas on April 24, 1925, to parents Elder James Edwards Simmons and Cora Molly Simmons. Marscine’s sunset was Saturday, December 2, 2017 at the age of 92 years. He was a member of Simon Memorial Church of God in Christ where he was Head Deacon. He retired from Santa Fe Railroad with 39 years of service. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, Essie Mae Simmons; one daughter, Patricia Simmons; six sisters, Pretha Bowie, Ocia Grace, Ona Cooper, Alvilda Scruggs, Elma Sells, and Pauline Coney; and six brothers, Causie Simmons, Alcie Simmons, Elder B.C. Simmons, Napoleon Simmons, Emanuel Simmons, and David Simmons. Marscine leaves to cherish his memories two sons, Carvin Simmons (Marie), Silsbee and Bobby Simmons (Annette), Missouri City, Texas; one daughter, Judy Cornelius, Port Arthur, Texas; seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Service will be held Saturday, December 9, 2017 at New Hope Church of God in Christ, 1100 West Avenue North, Silsbee, TX 77656 with Superintendent Daryl Gilbert, Sr. officiating. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. until funeral time at 1:00 p.m. Burial will immediately follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. Mr. Simmons’ services have been entrusted to Proctor's Mortuary (Locations in Anahuac, Beaumont, Silsbee and Woodville, Texas) 409- 840-2022; "We Make The Difference".
