Robert Hershel Hunt, 85, of Kountze, passed away Wednesday, August 9, 2017 at The Gardens-Altus in Beaumont. Funeral service was Friday, August 11 at Broussard’s Mortuary in Kountze with burial at Old Hardin Cemetery, also in Kountze. Born in Hillsboro, he served in the National Guard of the United States and retired as superintendent of numerous public schools. Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Gerri Hunt; children, Mickey Nathan Hunt and wife Debra Kay of Pleasanton, Teresa Hunt Sullivan of Magnolia, Holly Serien Weyler and husband Randy of Wildwood and Melanie Rene´ Hunt of Kingwood; and eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Carrol Winston Walton, 79, of Lumberton were at 10:00 a.m. Monday, August 14, 2017 at Farmer Funeral Home in Silsbee with interment following in Walton Cemetery in Lumberton. Visitation was from 5:00 p.m to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home. Mr. Walton passed away August 10, 2017 at his residence. Carrol was a lifelong resident of this area. He worked many years for Gulf States Utility Company before retiring. Mr. Walton loved to hunt and fish. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Silsbee and proudly served his country in the United States Army. He is preceded in death by his parents, Jesse and Hattie Riley Walton; brothers, J.D. Walton, L.B. Walton, and Earl L Walton; and sister, Jessie Lee Pattillo. Left behind to cherish his memories are his wife, of over 49 years, June Howell Walton of Lumberton; sons, Alan Walton and wife Nicole of Colmesneil and Ryan Walton and wife Courtney of Lumberton; sister in-laws, Faye Walton of Silsbee and Gen Walton of Lumberton; grandchildren Seidie Walton, Alana Walton, Andrew Byrd, Samantha Byrd, Mallory Warden, Morgan Walton, and Addyson Walton; great grandchildren Jastine O’Keefe and Knox O’Keefe; and numerous nieces and nephews. Carrol will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. In lieu of flowers and in memory of Mr. Walton, the family ask that donations be made to the First Baptist Church of Silsbee, 350 Hwy 96 S, Silsbee, TX 77656, the Alzheimer’s Association 700 North St Ste M, Beaumont, TX 77701 or the American Cancer Society 4 Bayou Brandt Rd. Harold Eugene Brown, 81, of Spurger, passed away Saturday, August 12, 2017 at M.D. Anderson Hospital in Houston. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, August 17 at Farmer Funeral Home in Silsbee with burial following in Bridge City. Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. today (Wednesday, August 16) at the funeral home. Born in Asheville, North Carolina, he was a United States Navy veteran and retired from Beaumont Works Dupont after 37 plus years as a Process Operator. He lived many years in West Orange before moving to Spurger ten years ago. Survivors include his wife, Barbara Jean Brown of Spurger; daughter, Peggy Jean Koonce and husband Bobby Lynn of Orange; step-daughter, Crystal Hearn and husband John of Beach City; siblings, Betty Louise Brown, Earl Allen Brown, Wayne Martin Brown, Jackie Lynn Brown, and Mary Alice Chambers, all of Asheville, North Carolina and Sewall Ray Brown of Rutledge, Tennessee; and seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mr. Brown’s memory may be made to M.D. Anderson Cancer Research, 1515 Holcombe Blvd, Houston, Texas 77030.

Simmons and Clifton Caraway at Caraway Auto Sales as a paint and body man. Later on, he worked for Charles Riley Logging of Doucette, until he moved on to work for himself as a logger for many years until he retired. Survivors include his daughters, Tammy McGallion and husband Jerry, Becky Jeff coats and husband Bubba, Maggie Duhonand husband Eddie, and April Drake, all of Fred and Indi Buschof Drakeville; sons, Walter Drake and wife Molly Curtis Drake and wife Haven, all of Drakeville; brother, Dale Drake of Zapata;and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren

Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Ivy Jewell of Lumberton; son, Darrell Gene O’Quinn and wife Susan of League City; daughter, Deborah Kay Geldard and husband Lauren J. of LaVernia; sister, Barbara Cato and husband Edd of West Monroe, Louisiana; and five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
